Angelo BORZIO has been coaching at East Stroudsburg University for the past eight years. In those eight years , he coached NCAA Qualifiers, PSAC Place Winners, and EIWA Champions. As a coach, his philosophy is to develop his wrestlers to the best of their ability, not to the best of others. As a wrestler at ESU Angelo was a two time PSAC and EIWA place winner, ESU open, Millersville and Wilkes open Champion, NCAA Div 1 Qualifier, and winner of 87 collegiate matches eight most wins in ESU history. Angelo now wrestles  for the NYAC Freestyle team and has developed into one of the top heavyweight freestyle wrestlers in the nation. In the past five years , he has placed 7th, 6th, 5th, 3rd and 4th in 98, 99, 00, 01 and 02 US Freestyle Nationals, 3rd in 98 Sunkist Int, 4th 2000 US Olympic Finals.

1983 to 1988 - Head Strength coach at Phillipsburg Catholic High School

    1988 to 1990 - Head Strength coach at Phillipsburg High School

    1991 to 1998 - Head Strength coach Bethlehem Catholic High School

    1999 to 2003 - Head Football Strength coach Lafayette College.

        During my 20+ years of strength and conditioning coaching, I've produced over 8 Division Championship Teams, Four District Champion Teams, three regional Champion teams two Eastern Division champs ands two State runner ups at the High School Level with in the Football arena. I also worked the leopards college program from last in the Division to second in the patriot division of I-AA college football.

        As a coach I've worked with athletes from, wrestling, baseball, football, track & field, basketball, soccer, softball, and yes cheerleading.

        soccer - 2 state titles (N.J.)

        track & field - division title (college & High School)

        baseball - one state title (PA.)

        wrestling - two NJ state champs three state runner ups, 10+ district and regional champs, two state champ team titles and over 20 nationally ranked college wrestlers.

 

        Football - have trained over 8 high school all Americans

                          over 15 college All Americans

                          over  8 Pro players

    Education:

                    I have studied under, Johnny Parker Head Strength coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs, formally

                    of the New England Patriots & New York Giants.

                    Al Miller Head strength, formally of the New York Giants and Know with the Atlanta Falcons.

                    Corresponds with assistant strength coach Greg Stoddard of the New York Giants.

                    Attended study sessions with Boyd Eply of the Univ. of Nebraska and corresponded with

                    Al Vermeil former Head strength coach of the Chicago Bulls Basketball Team.

    Projects:

                Designed Phillipsburg Catholic weight room

                                Phillipsburg High schools weight room

                                Bethlehem Catholics weight room

                                and at the request of Lafayette College AD. Dr. Bruce Mcutchin, re-designed the athletes weight room floor plan along with completing all purchase requirements saving the school over $20,000.00 in equipment.
