BRUTE Wrestling and the NWCA create new Fund
(Manheim, PA) In a true spirit of cooperation, BRUTE Wrestling and the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) are creating a fund to assist collegiate wrestling programs that are in jeopardy of being lost and to help create new ones.
BRUTE will be donating all event profits it receives from its BRUTE-adidas Nationals, to be held at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in April of 2005. For specific information regarding the event, please visit www.BRUTEadidasnationals.com , or call 1-800.486-2788 ext. 1721.
The NWCA has endorsed both the need for this type of a National underclassman format type tournament and BRUTE for contributing the profits from the event. The NWCA will be responsible for facilitating the distributions of funds.
Mike Moyer, Executive Director of the NWCA, states that, “with the support of the collegiate wrestling coaches by attending the event, the BRUTE-adidas Nationals could provide much needed and significant funding to support our sport.”
John Purnell, President and CEO of BRUTE Wrestling, went on to say, “we can think of no more worthwhile cause to contribute to than keeping strong the heritage of college wrestling and further developing the sport in our nation.”
John Smith, Head Wrestling Coach at Oklahoma State added “this is a great opportunity to see outstanding up and coming underclassman and help support college wrestling at the same time. This is a can’t miss opportunity for all college coaches.”
